What We’re Writing
Much new data has been collected for a second edition of Wayne’s J.R.R. Tolkien: A Descriptive Bibliography, as well as corrigenda for the first edition (1993, covering works to mid-1992), but it is premature to predict a date of publication. More than thirty years on, many new titles and editions need description and analysis, and we continue to be asked to do other Tolkien work under contract which must take priority.
We still hope to publish a book about the artist Pauline Baynes. First conceived as a conventional art book, then as an annotated catalogue of our own collection, we are crafting it now as a fuller bibliography, with information from the Pauline Baynes Archive which came in 2009 to the Chapin Library at Williams College, of which Wayne is the director emeritus.
Wayne has completed writing the catalogue of a private collection of rare astron0my books, with bibliographical descriptions and explanatory notes. It is hoped that this will be published eventually, but as the owner of the collection has passed away there are new considerations to be met, and a few revisions are needed.
